When a tooth becomes infected, the infection can spread to the tooth's core. This is known as dental pulp. The dental pulp contains nerves, connective tissue, and blood vessels. This area contains all of the tooth's sensitive areas. As a result, when the area becomes infected, it can be excruciatingly painful and necessitates immediate treatment. A root canal endodontic procedure works by drilling a small hole in the tooth to remove all infected areas. The dental pulp and, in some cases, the roots are removed. You only need your tooth roots to feel hot and cold sensations and for the tooth to grow. Taking out the roots will not directly harm the tooth once it has fully matured. It can, however, prevent the spread of infection, so when it is necessary to remove the roots, we do so as soon as possible. After that, we will clean the area to ensure that the infection has been removed. Antibiotics are usually prescribed as well. This ensures that any remaining infection is removed.
